We can’t believe it ourselves—our Seventh Gelato Tour of Italy— and it gets better every year!
When you think of Italy, the first word that usually comes to mind is gelato— that creamy, intense flavor ice cream that you find everyone eating in any type of weather (unlike Americans who usually eat ice cream only in the warmer months). In Italy they eat gelato all year round, and gelato and ice cream makers from all over the world celebrate this incredible frozen dessert in January, in Rimini, at the International Exhibition for the Artisan Production of Ice Cream, Pastry, Confectionery and Bakery, known as SIGEP. This amazing convention is geared to ice cream retailers and is alive with an incredible selection of flavorings, packaging, cake decorations, signage, tastings, and more. If you are in the business or are just thinking about getting into the business, you owe it to yourself to experience the 28th annual S.I.G.E.P. convention to learn all you can surrounded by the experts.
We are proud to announce that the two most prominent companies in the worldwide gelato industry, Carpigiani Group and the Fabbri Company, both from Bologna, Italy, will again be our co- sponsors for the Seventh Annual Gelato Tour of Italy from January 18–28, 2007.
With the support and involvement of these two outstanding companies, we can promise you a tour that will be educational, fun, and exciting! From our recent sold-out 2006 Gelato Tour of Italy, Cheryl Irby of Moorenko’s Ice Cream Cafe of McLean, Virginia said it best, “Thank you so much! Your efforts in planning the trip and the many special things you set up for us were “very special.” Helen Dratwa of North Canton, Ohio, who is thinking of opening a gelateria says, “SIGEP was like a dream! I was absolutely amazed…the passion, creativity and dedication…” .
So this is your chance to experience the joy of smelling, seeing and eating Italian gelato. This is the best Italy has to offer. When? January, 2007. In addition to being our guest at the convention for two days, we will visit some of our favorite Italian cities. Florence, with its old-world beauty, amazing museums and shopping, all within easy walking distance. Venice, the romantic capital of Italy. And, end the tour in Bologna with a private one-day workshop at Carpigiani and Fabbri. We have also added some exciting half-day, English- speaking guided tours of historic sights in Venice and Florence, and a wine tasting at a Tuscany winery. So, have we sparked your interest?
We are now taking reservations for this fantastic trip- January 18-28, 2007, offering three Trip Itineraries:
-
The full Gelato Tour (Venice, Rimini, Florence, and Bologna), starting out in New York on Thursday, January 18th and ending the trip on Sunday, January 28th with flight back to USA.
